Normally, I'd agree with you, but this time, I don't think it was just an excuse. He was too stricken in the aftermath by what happened. His reaction was too genuine to be fake.
Yeah. He wouldn't have been able to fake that kind of remorse. It really was something he didn't mean to happen, as hard as it is to believe, given the number of times he's threatened to kill me.
I mean, there's not really a shortage of threats around here - monsters, curses. Sometimes the Pthumerians themselves, you know. But you kind of adapt to it after awhile.

Well... most of the Sleepers here usually aren't super threatening to each other. Mostly, we all try to help each other. But if you ever do find yourself in trouble, I'll help as much as I can.
